Managing Your Debt

It is important that we understand your current circumstances, given that any arrangement you have entered or will enter - may have an affect on how any compensation you may receive is paid.

A brief account from you of the reasons as to why you believe in hindsight your IVA may have been missold is incredibly important, as it forms the basis of your claim against your Insolvency Practitioner. Some examples of important information are:
  • The payments set were too high
  • The term of your IVA was extended
  • You were unaware of the high fees that were being charged
  • You felt pressured into an IVA without exploring other options (such as a Debt Relief Order)
  • You believe the information that was used to setup your IVA was changed/manipulated by your Insolvency Company (such as income, expenditure or debt level)
Important Note:The more information you provided about how you believe you were missold and the history of your IVA, the stronger your case so please spend some time providing your testimony.
